Today, several members of the Oaklyn Fire Department attended the St. Baldrick's event in Collingswood. As you can see on our team page (http://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/75009/2012), we managed to raise well over our goal of $1,000! February 8, 2012 - Motor Vehicle Accident

On Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at 1615 hrs, Squad 18-3, Utility 18-3, Audubon Squad 1-1, Mt. Ephraim BLS 4 and a Virtua Paramedic unit were dispatched to the intersection of Newton Ave. and West Oakland Ave. for the report of a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. Squad 18-3 arrived to find a three vehicle accident involving a Camden County Sheriff's Dept. unit and two other vehicles. The occupants of one of the vehicles was suffering from non-life threatening injuries and needed to be extricated due to heavy damage on the driver's side of the car. She could not be removed via the passenger side. Firefighters from Oaklyn and Audubon quickly went into service with extrication equipment and removed the driver's door and post to free the occupant. She was safely removed from the vehicle and transported to the hospital for treatment by BLS 4. The scene was subsequently turned over to the Oaklyn Police Dept. For anyone who may have seen Collingswood Rescue on scene, this truck was recently purchased by the Oaklyn Fire Dept. We will post more information regarding the new truck in the near future.
