2013 Pancake Breakfast

Reminder: our annual Palm Sunday Pancake Breakfast is quickly approaching! Join us on Sunday, March 24th from 7 AM until noon for All You Can Eat pancakes, coffee, tea, milk, and juice. It's only $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12...and children under 2 eat for free! This event is always a fun time, and also a great way to support your local volunteer fire department. We hope to see you there!

February 25, 2013 - Recent Training

The OFD recently went to the Colllingswood training tower so that members could train in simulated conditions. Raising ladders and making entry through second floor windows to improve skills and confidence while wearing breathing apparatus were the focus of the drill.

February 20, 2013 - OFD's St. Baldrick's Team

The OFD is sponsoring a team which will be participating in the St. Baldrick's Foundation event in Collingswood on March 10th. St. Baldrick's makes childhood cancer research grants and this event sponsored by our friends at the Collingswood Fire Dept. has raised many thousands of dollars in the past few years. Last year the OFD team raised well over $3,000 themselves and are trying for $4,000 this year. You can help by clicking here and making a donation supporting the OFD team.

January 29, 2013 - Ice Rescue Training

The Oaklyn Fire Department participated in a recent ice rescue training exercise at Audubon Lake with the Audubon, Audubon Park, and Mt. Ephraim Fire Departments.

January 13, 2013 - RIP Chief Allgire

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Past Chief William Allgire who faithfully served the Oaklyn Fire Company No. 1 and Oaklyn Fire Department.

January 3, 2013 - Minor Dwelling Fire

Last night the OFD operated on a minor dwelling fire on East Lakeview Ave. The home sustained minimal damage, but most importantly the homeowner is OK.

January 2, 2013 - New Chief and Assistant Chief

The OFD's new chief and assistant chief were sworn in at the Borough's annual reorganization meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Scott Carins is the new chief and Rich Repas becomes assistant chief. A/C Repas barely finished his oath when the pagers went off for a dwelling fire.

Candy Canes 2012

It's almost time for one of our favorite annual traditions! On the morning of Saturday, December 8th, the Oaklyn Fire Department will be giving Santa a ride through town and giving out candy canes. Be sure to watch for us on Saturday morning for your chance to talk to Santa and get your candy canes!

November 4, 2012 - Halloween Parade 2012

The Oaklyn Fire Department would like to thank everyone that came out last night for the Halloween Parade. The turnout was huge, and we hope that next year it will be even bigger. We would also like to thank our judges that did not even think twice about saying "yes" and helping make this event as great as it was: Bonnie Wright Taft, Janet Rudderow LaBar, Judy Pierce, and Debbie Forbes. Thanks as well to ACME for providing candy for the goodie bags that we handed out.

OFD presents the Oaklyn Halloween Parade 2012

UPDATE: Due to the hurricane, this event has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 3rd at 5:30 PM.

The Oaklyn Fire Department is proud to present the 60th Annual Oaklyn Halloween Parade. All are invited, and we'll have prizes for various younger age groups, goodie bags for all, as well as a lot of fun. Note the change in the direction of the parade. We START at the Oaklyn School this year and end at the fire station. We're looking forward to everyone from Oaklyn and Bettlewood coming out to make this a big success.
